What to Expect and What You’ll Learn
Jerry Lee Sewell's clinics are about learning to manage, teach, ride and enjoy the horse— safer, better, and with common sense and confidence. His most frequently demonstrated talent is working with young horses and those who don't yet understand how to coexist with humans. He imparts insight from years of practical experience gained in many different situations. He has trained and shown, and he has been the "horse maker" on the ranch.

Jerry Lee makes a special effort to reach out to the beginner or timid rider, offering constructive help in a non-critical way. His communication skills, with horses and humans, uniquely fit him to be a teacher of both. With his keen eye for horse and rider, and common sense approach, Jerry Lee has helped many advanced riders make a breakthrough to a new, higher level of competition, and in some cases, even restore confidence lost after an accident.

Most horse owners have no intention or desire to show or compete, but prefer rather to enjoy their equine friends at their own pace and in a variety of settings. Jerry Lee makes extra efforts to assist these owners in becoming better riders and making their horses better, as well. Whether as participants in organized trail rides, a mountain packing trip of a lifetime, or impromptu get-togethers with a few barn friends, those who attend his clinics will come away with a new insight and renewed enthusiasm. After all, isn't that what having a horse is all about?

Scheduled Clinics

Jerry Lee currently has no scheduled clinics after taking time off to re-hab an old back injury. As of June 15, 2007 he is once again making plans to go "on the road", and can schedule a clinic for one or a hundred participants. In clinics where he rides with the participants, he limits the number on horseback to 12 in order to give everyone individal attention, with no limit on the number of observers. Some of the other kinds of seminars, clinics and demonstrations available are:
Private clinic:
A personal all-day clinic costs $250. Jerry Lee can work with you every few weeks to prepare you for the show circuit or work on whatever you like. This is a good choice for someone who is comfortable working alone on homework between sessions and is best suited for an intermediate or experienced rider.
